European Foulbrood (EFB) is often seen in colonies during the spring (cold, damp climate). The ability to test for this disease in the field adds to the beekeepers ability to manage their hives. Similar to pregnancy test kits, the sample of affected Larvae is placed on the tester to determine if positive for Melissococcus plutonius.
