In beekeeping, formic acid is used as a miticide to control Varroa mites in honeybee colonies. It works by releasing fumes that penetrate the hive and target mites without harming adult bees when used correctly. It is a strong, corrosive chemical, so proper protective gear - gloves, eye protection, and a mask - is essential when handling it. Make sure to grab your mite wipes as well!
